Chinese firm LeEco formerly known as LeTv has launched the LeEco Le 2 smartphone in India. With this device, which is a budget phone, the company has tried to merge content and hardware to introduce a device that is high on specifications and low on price.

Full System Specification, Display & Camera
The Dual-SIM supporting LeEco Le 2 flaunts a 5.5-inch Full HD In-Cell display with 1,080 x 1,920 pixels resolution. Powering the device is a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor clocked at 1.8GHz. This also makes the smartphone first to carry the Snapdragon 652 processor in India. The display offers really good viewing angles and sharp display. There’s also a Corning Gorilla Glass protection.
The LeEco Le 2 also come with a 3GB of RAM while the on-board storage of the device stands at 32GB. Both the Le 2 and Le 2 Max does not come with expandable storage. The porch device also runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out-of-the-box with LeEco’s proprietary eUI skin on top of it.
In the camera aspect, the Le 2 packs a 16MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front camera. The camera module on the rear side protrudes out slightly from the rest of the body. The LeEco phones use Sony sensors with f/2.0 aperture on the rear camera.
The camera user interface is similar to the one seen on the Le 1s and the Le Max. The device sports the phase-detect autofocus feature for quick focusing.
The LeEco Le 2 joins the Le Max 2 as the first smartphones to come without a standard 3.5mm earphone jack. Both smartphones feature USB Type-C audio output only. This means that the charging and data transfer port also works as the headphone port.
The company already has launched its USB Type-C headphones and earphones, price in the range of Rs 1,500 and Rs 2,000. The headphones feature CDLA or Continual Digital Lossless Audio standard, which supposedly delivers clearer audio as compared to Hi-Fi audio standards. It is still unclear how this new development will be received in the India market.
In terms of battery, the Le 2 sports a 3,000 mAh battery which will support LeEco’s proprietary USB Type-C fast charging feature. In the connectivity aspect, you get a dual-SIM card slot, Wi-fi 802.11ac MU-MIMO, Bluetooth 4.1, USB Type-C port, 4G LTE, and VoLTE.

The LeEco Le 2 carries a price tag of Rs 11,999 in India which is about 35,000 naira in Nigeria and will be available in July although pre-order is on now. You can pre-order for the device via Flipkart and LeMall.com.
