Alcatel 5 announced with Dual Selfie Camera and No Bottom Bezel: Review, Full Specs and Price

Alcatel newest device, the Alcatel 5 boasts of no bottom bezel, sporting a unique display. So the bezel-less display with no top notch trend have been saturated in the mobile industry. With OEMs going all the way by moving the selfie camera to the bottom bezel, but Alcatel did the opposite.

The midrange device will be affordable when launched, coming with 3GB of RAM, 32GB internal storage and 3000mAh battery. It comes with dual selfie camera as well, you can check below for availability and speculated price. The new device is beautiful and stunning no doubt, but willl it be worth it? Lets find out.

Design

Alcatel 5

A combination of metal and plastic, the Alcatel 5 is absolutely a beauty to behold. Comes with rough-like back for a non slippery hold, its also quite comfortable to hold. It measures 8.45 mm to the sides and weighs just 144g, which is light for a phone with 3000mAh battery.

Love the way the features at the back are placed, the rear camera starts a vertical train at the top middle. The dual-LED flash follows underneath, then the fingerprint scanner looking comfortable and quite accessible. The Alcatel logo reflects light in the most subtle way, you can only get the phone in two colors Gold and Black.

Display

It sports no bottom bezel, which is quite a new trend if you ask me. I think the top bezel is far more important than the bottom bezel, the display on the Alcatel 5 is out of this world. The 5.7-inch HD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen stretched all the way to the bottom.

The screen boasts of 1440 x 720 pixels in resolution, with 282 pixel per inch density. You have to admit how pretty the screen is, as it stretched up to 77.60% screen to body ratio. It supports multi-touch, has an 18:9 aspect ratio and protected by a 2.5D curved glass.

Hardware and Software

The beast under this beauty is the MediaTek MT6750T chip with Octa-core processor. The processor under this beauty boasts of a speed of up to 1.5GHz, with 28nm process technology and 64-bit CPU architecture. In the graphics department, the ARM Mali-T860 MP2 processor with 2-Cores is in charge, reaching a speed of 650MHz.

For multitasking, there’s a 3GB RAM space with a memory speed of 833MHz. Store all your files in the 32GB internal storage space, which is upgradeable up to 256GB using a memory card. The bezel-less smartphone runs smooothly on Android 8.0 Oreo with modified user interface.

Camera

The dual 13MP + 5MP selfie camera on this device is everthing, you can now take selfies from all angles with this baby. Boasting of 120 degree wide angle lens with LED flash, group selfies in dark places will turn out great. At the back, there’s a single 12MP rear shooter with f/2.0 aperture which takes 4K resolution images in a second. It comes with dual-LED flash as well plus other features helping the camera capture photographs with 4032 x 3024 pixels in dimension.

Battery

Alcatel 5 is powered by a 3000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery, with fast battery charging feature. It shouldn’t take more than 2 hours to fully charge up the device from 0% to 100%.
