We all expect to see a lot of improvements in the upcoming Mate 40 flagship series from Huawei. This includes not just the chipset which migrates to a 5nm node but also the design aspect as well as the phone’s camera. Over the past few weeks, we have seen several leaks revealing the tempered glass for the Mate 40 giving us an insight into what the front design of the Mate 40 might look like. Today, another leak showing the screen protector for the Mate 40 Pro has appeared online to confirm some features of the phone’s display.

The image suggests that the Mate 40 Pro will come with a 6.6-inch screen featuring curved edges and as expected, ultra-thin bezels. There isn’t any notch on the display whatsoever to house the front-facing camera. This means that the phone might implement an under-display camera design instead. If this is true, it could make the Huawei Mate 40 Pro the first commercial smartphone model to ship with an under-display camera.

Now, the design is just one of the many areas of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro that will feature improvements. There are many amazing features that have been highlighted on the phone such as even faster charging, a bigger battery, the new Kirin 1020 chipset, and an even better camera setup. Huawei will ship the Mate 40 Pro with Android out of the box with EMUI 11 skin.

The company has made assurances that it will not delay the launch of the Mate 40 series and as such, we might get to see them as early as September or October.
