Following the success of a whole chunk of many of their devices like the rugged and waterproof Blackview BV7000 Pro and Blackview BV8000 Pro and the dual camera beauties, Blackview A7, Blackview A7 Pro, Blackview A9 Pro and more, the 4-year-old China based smartphone company have released yet another Dual rear camera smartphone, the Blackview S8.

The Blackview S8 doesn’t just come with Dual camera on the rear, it is a Quad-camera device as it also sport Dual cameras at the front. Let’s have a look at the major other features.


Blackview S8

Like the Doogee Mix 2, the Blackview S8 is also more of “length focused” than width. The device is a “long” device and also shares some iota of resemblance with the Samsung Galaxy S8 design-wise. The device has a 154.0 mm x 719. mm x 8.5 mm dimension and weighs a whooping 190 Grams together with the built-in battery.

The Blackview S8 is available in three colour options – Black, Blue and Gold and come with an almost bezel-less curved screen.

The screen is a scratch resistant Full HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a size of 5.7 inches and a resolution of 720 x 1440 pixels and pixel density of 282 pixels per inch. The Blackview S8 comes with a screen protection mechanism but of unspecified version.

The Blackview S8 uses a MediaTek MT6750 System-on-Chip and operates on an Octa core Cortex-A53 processor which runs at 1.0 GHz and 1.5 GHz. The device comes out of the box running the Android v7.0 Nougat OS in the company of a huge 4 GB RAM. Launching applications and multitasking on the device should be as smooth as silk.

There’s a built-in storage of 64 GB capacity for keeping media files and documents of any type. The storage can be expanded via the dedicated Micro SD card slot to the tune of 128 GB.

Blackview S8

The device comes with a Quad camera set-up ( 2 sensors on the rear and 2 on the front). The Blackview S8 has a 13 MP and 0.3 MP sensor on the rear alongside dual LED flash lights.

A photocopied 13 MP + 0.3 MP sensor combination is also embedded on the front but comes with a single LED flash light.

The Blackview S8 is powered and kept on by a non-removable Lithium-Polymer battery of capacity 3,180 mAh. The device doesn’t support wireless charging using a charging pad or mat but it comes with the Quick charge technology for faster charge via USB cable.


The Blackview S8 has been officially and is available for purchase at a $150 to $170 price range.
