Coolpad A1 has been launched by the company in India as an affordable entry-level smartphone. The smartphone was launched ahead of the 2018 Mobile Electronics Exhibition in Hong Kong.

From afar, you might think that’s Metal because of how sleek it is, but it’s just Plastic. The body was designed to perfection and should feel comfortable to hold as well. The features at the rear is simple and plain, there’s no fingerprint scanner in sight.
While the rear camera and LED flash are visible at the top middle, with the Coolpad logo sitting underneath. The dual antenna lines also adds to the beauty of the device, as it measures 8.1 mm in thickness and available in only Gold color.
Coolpad isn’t ready to go totally bezel-less like other OEMs on their budget smartphones. Even though the A1 has no narrow bezels as usual, the top and bottom bezel might seem rather enormous to users and somewhat distracting.
Focusing on the screen, The 5.-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen displays like a budget smartphone it is. With a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and 294 pixel per inch density, the details on the screen should be clear enough for users. Additionally, the screen stretches up to 68.80% screen to body ratio.
Hardware and Software
Under the hood is the Snapdragon 210 chip from Qualcomm with Quad-core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. Disappointingly, the 4-cores of processor on this baby could only clock at 1.1GHz with 28nm process technology. The Adreno 304 graphics processor is in charge of graphics and clocks at 400MHz.
Ready to handle all your multitasking here is just 2GB of RAM with 533MHz memory speed. Store up all your files, games and apps in the 16GB internal storage space that’s available, the storage space is upgradeable up to 64GB. The Coolpad A1 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat operating system with modified user interface.
The 8MP rear shooter capture photographs with 3264 x 2448 pixels in dimension. The camera comes with a LED flash and other features to capture quality photographs in low light and record videos of 720 pixels at 30 frames per second. For selfies, the 5MP selfie camera captures cute and natural looking selfies as well.
Powering the Coolpad A1 is a 2500mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery with no fast charging technology. Even without the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take up to 2.2 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
