Did you or someone else that might have access to your phone mistakenly or unknowingly delete an SMS on your mobile phone? Would like to get those messages back? If Yes, then you can simply follow this easiest method to restore deleted SMS messages on your Android and iOS device.
There are several other software/apps you can use for this purpose, some of them are even available on the google play store for Android and on the Apple App Store for iOS. However, we are going to be using a PC Software called PhoneRescue For Android and iOS which is much more reliable to me.
In this article we talk about:
What is PhoneRescue?
PhoneRescue is a PC Software that specializes in data recovery. They don’t only recovery messages, they also recover call logs, contacts, photos and so much more. They also claim to have the highest data recovery success rate in the industry and also the only software that restores lost date directly to your phone.
Best part? You don’t have to root or jailbreak your device in order to use the software.
Easiest Method to Restore Deleted SMS Messages on your Phone
As long as the SMS hasn’t been overwritten, then PhoneRescue will definitely restore your deleted text messages back to your phone. Unfortunately, the software isn’t a free software, and you will have to pay to download it.
- Make sure your phone is running on Android 4.0 or higher.
Download PhoneRescue For Android On your PC or Mac.
Run the Software and Connect your Phone to the PC or Mac via a USB Cable. It will detect your phone and connect it to the software.
After connecting, you will be presented with different categories; Photos, contacts, Messages, etc. Tick Messages and Click on Next.
Check the Messages Folder and Messages attachments for the message you will like to restore. (If you don’t find the message(s) here, then it has probably been overwritten and gone forever)
However, if you see the message(s), Select/Mark them and Choose whether to Restore to Your Phone or Restore to your PC using the two options at the bottom right side of the screen.
That’s it. If the file(s) you’ve selected are much, then it might take some time to Restore, just sit back and relax.
- Make sure you’re on iOS 9 or higher.
Download PhoneRescue For iOS.
Run the software and connect your iOS device to your PC or Mac using a USB Cable.
Now that your device is connected. Click on the Right Arrow at the bottom of the screen to scan your iOS device.
All Categories Will Pop up and be automatically selected by default. Uncheck them all and leave only the message Checked/Marked then click on Ok.
Select Messages and Messages Attachments.
Select the contact with whom you would like to restore the message.
Preview the Message you would like to restore, Select it and Choose whether to restore to phone or PC using the options at the bottom right side of the screen.
That’s how you restore deleted SMS messages on your phone.
I’ll recommend you get an SMS backup and restore app installed on your Android or iOS device in order to avoid something like this happening again. What if the message has been/ was overwritten? Better safe than sorry right?
There are so many SMS backup and restore apps that can sync your messages periodically to the cloud in case you or someone else mistakenly or unknowingly delete it again.
