The Elephone P12 popped up on one of Elephone’s official stores. We can confirm the specifications and details of the Elephone P12 flagship. The device is the successor to the P11 we reviewed earlier.
The P12 looks like a much powerful version of the A2 budget-friendly smartphone. Apart from having a wooden body, it’s powered by the Helio X25 (MT6797T) chip with deca-core processor. Lets find out more.
The back is made of wood and you will definitely feel the wooden texture when you hold it. It has a metal frame as well, this makes the device look premium as well as giving off the vintage vibe.
At the top middle, we can see the rear details which includes the rear camera and the dual-LED flash sitting by right the side. There’s an inscription by the let indicating how many pixels the camera boasts of.
Turning over the front, of course we can see the notched screen in all its glory. This isn’t the first Elephone smartphone with the notch though. The P12 sports a physical home button at the bottom chin which doubles as the fingerprint scanner.
The 6.18-inch FHD+ In-Cell OGS capacitive touchscreen is breathtaking, it boasts of 2246 х 1080 pixels in resolution and 403 pixel per inch density. The screen stretches up to 82% screen-to-body ratio with a 2.5D Curved Glass on top.
Hardware and Software
The Helio X25 chip runs the show underneath, the chip was built on a 20nm process technology. It boasts of 10-cores in terms of processor and clocks at fast pace of 2.5GHz. While the ARM Mali T880MP graphics processor comes with 4-cores and clocks at 850MHz.
There’s the standard 4GB of RAM space here available for multitasking. The RAM reaches a memory speed of over 1GHz, while the storage is pegged at a massive 128GB. However, there’s a cheaper variant with 32GB storage. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.
Elephone kept it simple in the camera department, the P12 is equipped with a single 21MP rear camera. The camera comes with a dual-LED flash and other internal features as well. While the 8MP selfie camera focuses on selfies.
Powering the Elephone P12 is a 6000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 3 hours.
