I Forgot My iPhone Passcode! What Do I Do Now?

Well, there are both good news and bad news for the people who have forgotten their iPhone passcode. First, the good news is that all is not lost. The bad news, however, is that you can’t recover the passcode of your iPhone in any way.

The only possible way, of course, is if, by a stroke of luck and genius, your brain remembers the passcode again. If not, the only way you can gain access to your iPhone again is by restoring it. Yes, doing this will get rid of all your data on your iPhone but, incidentally, even when you are locked out of your iPhone, you can still backup your device.

The first thing you should do when you get locked out of your iPhone or iPad is to back it up.

To back up your iOS device, follow the steps below.

  1. Connect it to your computer and then open iTunes on the computer.
  2. Next, select your device from the menu in the upper right corner of your computer’s screen.

  4. Once it is done backing up, you should see the date and time that your device was backed up under Latest Backup.

Note: Make sure to uncheck encrypt backup before you back up your device.

After you have backed up your device, you have two options.
