Just yesterday we talked about the specifications and the main features of Samsung’s new wearable. Now, the first real photos of the Galaxy Watch 3, in dimensions 41 and 45 mm, have arrived on the Internet.
Galaxy Watch 3: here are the pictures the Internet has been waiting for!
Very similar to the sketch that illustrates the rear of the SM-R845 model that was also in yesterday’s article, these front photographs come from a regulatory agency and not from leaksters who normally share their news on Twitter.
This is the photo corresponding to the larger Galaxy Watch 3 with the rotating bezel
The SM-R850 designation eventually belongs to the smaller Galaxy Watch 3, while the larger version has the SM-R840 designation. Unsurprisingly, the two smartwatches look practically identical from the outside, while also sharing a lot in common with the Galaxy Watch, launched in 2018. The Sammobile website that never makes a mistake when it comes to Samsung has also revealed this.
One of the most interesting details of the new wearables is in doubt the return of the physical rim. It had disappeared by the time Samsung launched Watch Active 2. This was to reduce costs.
However, despite this rim, the Galaxy Watch 3 panel will be drastically reduced in thickness compared to the 2018 Galaxy Watch.
The Galaxy Watch 3 will be significantly less robust than the Galaxy Watch, although it is not as compact and thin as the Watch Active 2. The Korean certification agency also revealed the presence of two buttons on the right side of the Galaxy Watch 3, which may look like a familiar configuration, but interestingly, the shape and size are different from that of the Galaxy Watch and Watch Active 2.
In addition to everything these published documents prove, we know that Samsung intends to commercially launch the Galaxy Watch 3 in early August in two versions. Stainless steel and titanium.
In terms of functionality, we will have GPS, heart rate monitoring, sleep verification, electrocardiogram, and blood pressure. In the case of the electrocardiogram, although it is a very interesting function, it may not be approved quickly. I remember that we are still waiting for this feature to be available in Watch Active 2.
Also noteworthy is the IP68 water resistance, 8 GB of internal storage space, at least 1 GB of RAM, and Gorilla Glass DX protection for 1.2 and 1.4 inch Super AMOLED screens. Also noteworthy is support for LTE. As for the battery, we expect a capacity of 340 mAh for variants of 41 and 45 mm, respectively.
As for prices, there is still no information. However, it is a fact that Galaxy Watch 3 will be slightly more expensive than Watch Active 2.
