Google creates a new line of Pixel phones to show how a pure Android experience should be, but also throws in the mix the best cameras ever seen on a smartphone. Well, the Pixelbook of 2017 intended to do the same with Chrome OS but failed to reach the masses, thanks to the oh-but retail tag is so expensive.

Well, we all learn from our mistakes and Google Pixelbook Go now has nothing more to learn. It brings with it a powerful hardware package, with a surprising and light design and a slightly more affordable price. So let’s dive in and take a look at the specifications and features of Pixelbook Go.

Pixelbook Go: specifications and features

Pixelbook Go is unlike any other Chromebook launched by Google in the past and features a standard laptop-style design. It has the same color finishes as Google’s “old” Pixel 3, with a matte finish on the top cover and a unique wavy pattern on the bottom side. It weighs just two pounds and is only 13 mm thin.

This Chromebook sports a 13.3-inch touchscreen, with the resolution reaching up to the 4K “HD Molecular Display” in the high-end variant. It is powered by the same Intel Core processors, ranging from the Core m3 to the Core i7 processor, like last year’s Pixel Slate. It is supported by a maximum of 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage space.

When you open Pixelbook Go, you’ll find two huge front speakers on both sides of the keyboard and give you an immersive audio experience. The keyboard, on the other hand, was borrowed from the Pixel Slate, but made it quieter and called it – Hush Keys.

The Chromebook is equipped with two USB Type-C ports and a Duo Cam with dual up-top 2 MP cameras, which works well with the Duo video call app and will compete with FaceTime.

Google has not revealed the battery size inside the Pixelbook Go, but in an official post on its blog it states that it can provide “up to 12 hours of battery life” on a single charge. And this is a nice surprise because a simple 20-minute charge will give you 2 hours of battery charge.

Price and availability

Google claims that Pixelbook Go is ready for pre-order, starting at $ 649, but exclusively in the United States and Canada. It will arrive in Europe in January next year, with currently no details on a launch in India. It is available in two attractive colors, called Just Black and Not Pink.
