Google has finally made their latest flagship phone available as expected. Both phones have a similar design with the previous Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.
The Pixel 3 is accompanied with a bigger model which is for those that want more and have the cash as well. There are significant changes on the Pixel 3 XL and in this post, we will be comparing the Google Pixel 3 with the Pixel 3 XL.

Google Pixel 3 VS Google Pixel 3 XL: Design Comparison

Just like the Pixel 2 and 2 XL, both phones sport’s a premium material on the back and front. They came with a similar design even though there are some changes on their screen to body ratio. The Pixel 3 has body dimensions of 145.6 x 68.2 x 7.9 mm and 148 gram in weight while the Pixel 3 XL has body dimensions of 158 x 76.7 x 7.9 mm with 143 gram in weight. Furthermore, both phones have a loud firing stereo speakers on the front with a dual front-facing camera as well. They have IP68 rating making them both dust and water resistant and they feature a smooth back made with glass and a fingerprint scanner for security.

The Google Pixel 3 has a screen size of 5.5-inch without a notch under AMOLED display panel with a screen resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and 443 pixels per inch density.
The screen reaches up to 77.2% screen-to-body ratio with corning gorilla glass 5 and is capable of HDR content. The Google Pixel 3 XL has a large screen size of 6.3-inch with a notch under AMOLED display panel with a screen resolution of 2960 x 1080 pixels and 523 ppi density. It has an 82.8% screen-to-body ratio with a corning gorilla glass 5 as well and it will offer sharp display to users.

Both phones sport great cameras configuration. Both the Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL has a rear camera of 12.2 MP with f/1.8, 28mm (wide), 1/2.55″, 1.4µm, OIS, and dual pixel PDAF. They have a dual front-facing camera of 8 MP, f/1.8, 28mm (wide), and PDAF while the secondary 8 MP snapper features f/2.2, 19mm (ultrawide), and no AF. Both cameras will offer decent photos with clear details and they can record 4K videos as well. Other features on the camera include a Top Shot, Photobooth Mode, Super Res Zoom, Playground, Motion Auto Focus and Night Sight which will enable you to take the best and perfect shots ever.

Google Pixel 3 and the Pixel 3 XL has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core chipset running at a speed of 2.5GHz and 1.6GHz respectively. They have 4GB of RAM with Adreno 630 and an inbuilt memory of 64GB and 128GB which is not expandable. This arrangement might be disappointing since the likes of Galaxy Note 9 and others has moved from 6GB to 8GB of RAM while the Pixel 3 is still settling for 4GB RAM. Well, the latest flagship chipset coupled with other internal features will enable the phone to perform extremely fast like the iPhone XS and XS Max. They are both powered by Android 9.1 Pie with dual SIM support similar to that of iPhone XS.

The Google Pixel 3 has a nonremovable battery capacity of 2915 mAh while the Google Pixel 3 XL has a battery capacity of 3430 mAh.  Both phones have USB Type C cable with both fast and wireless charging technology and other regulars.  As for the price, Google Pixel 3 will cost $799 for 64GB, and $899 for 128GB storage. The Google Pixel 3 XL will sell at a price of $899 for 64GB and $999 for 128GB.

Our Verdict:

Going on the design, the Pixel 3 XL has a notch with a bigger screen size and a large battery capacity making it the flagship of the duo while the Pixel 3 is perfect for those that don’t like notch and it’s more affordable than the later. In terms of performance, both phones will offer the same experience to users.
