Google PixelBook – A High-end Google Laptop

Google came on stage on October 4, 2017, to display their newly made Google PixelBook, which was announced at the same time with new Pixel Mini and Google Home Max. Google has unveiled the Pixel Book which is one of the most advanced systems in the market. The Giant Tech company is positioning the PixelBook to compete with the likes of Acer Switch 7 Black Edition Microsoft’s Surface Book. Google Pixel Book is now improved as a high-end convertible laptop and uses Chrome Operating system; it can also be folded to be used as a tablet. It can be used in Tent Mode and Entertainment mode which is the reason why Google labelled it as a 4-in-1 laptop just like Lenovo Yoga.

The outer part of its aluminium Pixelbook looks like the toned look of the Pixel Phones, and it has a glittering white panel across the top of its lid to allow wireless signals in and out of it.

Google Pixel Book Features

With its 2.4 pounds weight, its light enough such that you would feel comfortable using it as a tablet and holding it with a hand to get tasks done. It has magnets on its lid and bottom that makes its sides fit perfectly against each other in the tablet mode.

It comes with Intel Core i5 and i7 processors depending on the model you buy; you can be confident that it will be swift and efficient for multi-tasking and running your favourite softwares. It comes with 256GB of internal storage which may vary depending on the model you purchase.

Google PixelBook has a 12.3-inch screen with a 3:2 aspect ratio, with 235 pixels per inch (PPI) which is still okay for a laptop and makes its actual appearance look squared. It has soft-touch, backlit keys and a large end to end trackpad.

The buttons are all positioned around its tablet mode, just like a phone or tablet. It also has a USB-C port on the left and a 3.5mm headphone jack on the right, a USB-C charger with 2 ports that both can be used for charging.

It comes with a new stylus which costs between $99 to $110; there is a button dedicated to Google Assistant that can power on image recognition abilities for visual searches. Google Assistant works like Windows 10 Cortana. It works when you click the button and circle something on your screen with your stylus; Google Assistant will give you more information (like the definition, translations to any language you prefer) about what was highlighted or circled. According to Google, the battery is designed to last 10 hours when charged at once, and with 15 minutes charge, you get 2hrs power.
