Honor, Huawei’s popular sub-brand, has launched its new wearable device in China. This is Honor Band 4, which has not had much emphasis because of the official presentation of two important devices of the house in Shenzhen, or Honor 8X and Honor 8X Max. However, the Honor Band 4 and Honor Band 4 Running Edition fitness trackers that have entered the market this week are two great products, which deserve a proper mention on TecHLecToR.

While the Honor Band 4, which happens at Honor Band 3 launched last year, is a wearable device for water-resistant fitness that comes with the heart rate sensor, the Running Edition is a variant of the device with some functionality in less. Both new fitness wearables will be on sale in China starting September 20.

Honor Band 4 sports a 0.95-inch AMOLED display with 2.5D curved glass. The wearable comes with a circular Home button on the front, tracks the user’s heart rate, is water resistant up to 50 meters. Honor claims that the Band 4 100mAh battery can offer a 6-day battery life with continuous heart rate measurement. It is also the company’s first wearable to have a color display.

Regarding connectivity, the Honor Band 4 comes with Bluetooth 4.2, and the wearable can be paired with smartphones through the Huawei Health app. It also comes with NFC support for payments. It is water resistant up to 5 ATM. Onboard sensors include a 6-axis gyroscope, a PPG heart rate sensor and an infrared sensor. Honor Band 4 also measures 43 × 17.2 × 11.5mm and weighs 23 grams.

In addition, the Honor Band 4 is equipped with Huawei TruSleep 2.0 that allows  monitoring of the entire structure of sleep , including deep sleep (REM). With Huawei TruSeen 2.0 heart rate technology, the wearable device can also monitor the heart for 24 hours, during running, walking, cycling and more.

Coming to the Honor Band 4 Running Edition, the company has incorporated fewer features than the Band 4 to be able to offer it at a lower price. This variant is equipped with a PMOLED display and does not have a colored display as the standard variant. It also does not house a heart rate sensor and NFC support. It is powered by a smaller 77mAh battery.

Honor Band 4 is priced at 199 Yuan (about 25 euros) and is available in Black, Blue, and Pink. Honor Band 4 Running Edition has a price of 99 yuan (about 12.50 euros).
