By default, YouTube is configured to offer the best experience to its users, so it automatically uploads videos in HD format.
The high definition format requires more bandwidth; if multiple computers in your office are playing HD videos at the same time, the download speed across the network may be affected.

To avoid this, set up YouTube to play videos using a lower playback quality setting. Videos will load faster, but playback quality will be affected by the new settings. However, you can return to HD mode at any time during playback.
How to stop the automatic loading of YouTube in HD
You can change YouTube playback settings from the YouTube Settings page.
- To access the page, click on your name or the arrow in the upper right corner of the page and click on the “YouTube settings” link.
- View all settings related to playback by clicking on the “Playback” tab.
- By default, the option “Always choose the best quality for my connection and player size” is enabled. This means that all YouTube videos will be uploaded in HD if you have a good Internet connection.
- To disable HD on YouTube, enable the option “I have a slow connection. Never play higher-quality videos. ” Save your changes by clicking on the “Save” button. The changes are applied immediately.
