Soft Reset

Also called soft reboot. This is the easier and a more better method of fixing a frozen Samsung Galaxy Note 8. This method doesn’t wipe your phone or delete any of your data on your device. With this method, you can easily fix your frozen Samsung Galaxy Note 8 without any loss of data. Also this method works most of the time.

How to Soft Reset your frozen Samsung Galaxy Note 8

  1. Press and hold the volume down and power button for about 7-10 seconds.

This should force your device to vibrate, turn itself off and turn back on. Boom, your phone is as good as new.

But if that doesn’t happen then you will most definitely be in the safe mode. Lets continue.

  1. Navigate using the volume up and volume down to the ‘reboot’ option.
  2. Select using the power button.

Your phone reboots and you’re good to go.

Hard Reset

There are times the soft reset won’t be able fix your frozen Samsung Galaxy Note 8. You’ll need to bring reinforcement to get the required result. The hard reset should be used as a last resort when you’ve tried soft reset numerous times without any results. Hard reset wipes your phone and all the data in it. After the hard reset, your device will look like new on the Inside.

How to Hard Reset your frozen Samsung Galaxy Note 8

  1. Press and hold the volume up and power button simultaneously. A Samsung logo will come up and recovery will start booting in the top-left corner of your device.
  • Once that is done, use the volume up and down button to navigate to the “Wipe Data/Factory Reset”. Use the Bixby button to select it.

  • Navigate using the volume down to the “Yes Delete All User Data” and select again using the Bixby button.

  • Grab a cold bottle of soda and wait for the process to completed.

  • After the process, the system will make available a “Reboot System Now” which you would click on.

  • After the reboot is done, your phone becomes like new once again.

    Conclusion

    The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is a pretty nice phone with outstanding specs and of course a couple of minor bugs is to be expected. This problem i can deal with, unlike the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 that reportedly keep catching fire or exploding. At least there are no reports of the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 catching fire or exploding.
