For some time now, mobile billing on the Play Store has been enabled for Nigeria via 9Mobile’s service named 9Pay. And even if it is quite hard to set up, you just have to keep trying and you will eventually get it right. This article is going to make sure of that. Here is How To Pay On Google Play Store Apps In Naira With 9Pay?:
Set Active 9Mobile SIM
For this tutorial to serve its purpose, the main SIM on your phone has to be 9Mobile. If you are not a 9Mobile customer, you will have to become one because you will not be able to use 9Pay to purchase apps on the Play Store without doing this.
Do you use a dual SIM phone? I will advise you to disable one SIM and enable only the 9Mobile SIM. If this cannot be done on your phone, take out the other SIM so it will be only your 9Mobile SIM inside your device.
You might not even need to remove any SIM card, just make sure the 9Mobile SIM is set as the default app for phone calls and internet, and you will be fine.
How Can I Open My 9Pay Account
You can register for a 9Pay account here. Or you can just dial *500# on your 9Mobile line to instantly enable the service. It is not complicated at all.
How Can I Fund My 9Pay Account?
A debit card is required if you want to fund your account. 9Pay says it does not reject any debit card but FirstBank Naira MasterCard owners have complained that their card was not accepted. GTBank works fine though. A token would be needed because the payment processor will need it for payment to be approved.
For the funding of your account, get yourself logged into your smartphone or computer with Google Chrome. Other browsers like Safari for macOS might show you a blank screen when you click “Fund Account.”
To link your 9Pay account to the Google Play Store, launch Google Play Store, head to Account in the sidebar then Payment Methods.
You can also use an app like the one you see below.
Immediately you are done linking your 9Pay account, tap “Buy” and hold on for a few seconds.
And that is that. You have successfully linked your 9Pay account and made your first Google Play Store purchase in Naira.
