In addition to financial and health information, your photos can be the most valuable thing on your iPhone. Of course, photos are not the only type of data that you can transfer.

But let’s go back to the pictures.

Upload photos using iCloud

The basic idea of iCloud is that all devices logged in to the same iCloud account can have the same data, including photos.

  1. Tap Settings.
  2. Click your name at the top of the screen (on iOS 11. On iOS 10, tap iCloud and go to step 4).
  3. Touch iCloud.
  4. Tap on Photos.
  5. Move the iCloud Photo Library slider to the green position and the photos will be synchronized between the devices. Depending on how many photos you have and how fast your Internet connection is, it may take a while.

NOTE CRUCIAL: If you are moving photos because you get rid of one of the iPhones, be sure to log out of iCloud before resetting this phone / deleting its data.

Upload photos by synchronizing them with your computer

Another easy way to transfer photos from iPhone to iPhone is to synchronize photos with your computer and then use this computer to synchronize them with the other iPhone.

In this case, you can choose one of two ways to synchronize:

  • Synchronize your iPhone with iTunes via USB
  • Sync iPhone with iTunes over Wi-Fi.

Select an option and follow these steps:

  1. Synchronize your iPhone with photos from it on your computer as usual.
  2. Click Photos in the left iTunes column.
  3. Check the box next to Sync Photos if it is not already selected.
  4. Choose the place where you want to synchronize your photos: a folder, the Photos application on a Mac or the Windows Photos app on Windows.
  5. Check the box next to All folders.
  6. Click Apply to save changes.
  7. Click Sync to sync photos.
  8. After the synchronization completes, check the sync location you selected in step 4 to make sure all your photos are present.
  9. Disconnect the phone.
  10. Synchronize the other phone with which you want to send photos.
  11. Follow steps 2-7 above.
  12. When the synchronization is complete, check the Photos application on your iPhone to make sure it has been uploaded.
  13. Disconnect the phone.

Transfer photos using photo applications such as Google Photos

If you really use the photo on your iPhone, there is a good chance you will use the photo-sharing service, such as Google Photos.

Because there are so many different photo sharing apps, there is not enough room to write step by step instructions for everyone.

  1. Create an account in your preferred application.
  2. Install the app on your iPhone if you have not already done so.
  3. Upload all photos that you want to send to your new phone, to the application.
  4. On the second iPhone, install the application and log in to the account created in step 1.
  5. After logging in, the photos sent in step 3 will be downloaded to the application.

Upload photos using AirDrop

If you only need to send a few pictures between phones or you want to share them with another person nearby, AirDrop is the best solution.

  • iPhones running iOS 7 or newer
  • Bluetooth and Wi-Fi support
  • Telephones a few feet apart.

After you’ve met all of these conditions, follow the steps below to upload photos using the AirDrop feature:

  1. Open the Photos app and find the photos you want to share.
  2. Tap Select.
  3. Tap the photos you want to share.
  4. Tap the action field (the field with an arrow coming out of it).
  5. Nearby devices are displayed that can receive files via AirDrop.
  6. If both devices are logged in using the same Apple ID, the transfer takes place immediately.

Upload photos via e-mail

It is possible to create an iTunes account without a credit card.

Another option to transfer only a few photos is good old e-mail.

  1. Tap on Photos to open it.
  2. Browse your photos until you find a photo or photos that you want to send by email.
  3. Tap Select.
  4. Tap the photo or photos you want to send by email.
  5. Tap the action field (square with an arrow coming out of it)
  6. Touch Mail.
  7. A new email will be displayed with the selected photos.
  8. Fill out the email with the address, subject, and content as you like.
  9. Choose Send.
