In this guide, we’ll be showing you how to use Amazon Alexa on Windows 10 PC. If you’ve got any PC running on the Windows 10 PC then you can continue. However, if you’re still on Windows 8.1, 8.0 or below then you’ll have to upgrade before you can use Amazon Alexa.
Being able to use Amazon Alexa on Windows 10 PC wasn’t always possible as it was recently made possible. Thanks to the collaboration between Microsoft and Alexa which is targeted at bringing or rather expanding their AI assistant to other platforms. So not only can you use Amazon Alexa on Windows 10 PC, you can also use Microsoft Cortana on Amazon Echo. However, we will be focusing on how to do the former in this article.
Now, to be able to do that, there are some prerequisites that must be Checked.
- PC/Laptop Running On Latest Windows OS (Make sure you’re on the latest, it is very important)
- Amazon login and Password. Don’t have one? Head to the Amazon website to Register/Sign Up.
- An Internet Connection.
Must have “Net Framework 4.7.2” Installed. Don’t have it Installed on your PC? No worries. Head to the Microsoft Website to download it.
Make sure you PC language is in US English as Alexa currently supports only US English.
Once all that prerequisites are met. You can now go on to install it on your PC.
How To Use Amazon Alexa On Windows 10 PC

Once that is done. Open the Amazon Alexa through the Start Menu and Wait for it to Load.
Click on the Continue button to accept the terms and conditions of Amazon Alexa.
This will bring up a page where you’re going to configure Alexa for your PC. Tick/Mark “Launch the app and sign into this computer” if you would like the Alexa to turn on immediately you sign in to your computer. If you also like, you can Tick/Mark App Sounds. You can also change all these later through the Settings Menu.
Once you’re done, Click on Finish Setup to take you to the Log In page.
Input your Amazon Log In ID and Password to Log In.
Just like that, you’re able to use Amazon Alexa Windows 10 PC. You can access Alexa by accessing the control center (Up-facing arrow at the bottom left corner of the PC screen) on your PC.
This is a good step forward as you don’t need to be lock to your device’s assistant. You can use a device and use a different assistant than the one that came pre-installed on your device. I can’t wait for Apple to follow suit in the mobile segment and probably make Siri available for Android devices.
