Huawei Honor 7C

Chinese company Huawei just launched the Huawei Honor 7C yesterday on their website. Looks like Huawei is having a fun time making these bezel-less beauties, with lots of them already released this year.

The Honor 7C flows with the current trend going on in China, dishing out an 18:9 aspect ratio. Furthermore, it comes with the face recognition technology and other quality features. Want to know more? Stay with me.

Design

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor knows exactly what they are doing in terms of design. The 7C exudes class and style with a Metal + Plastic mix body, that’s comfortable to hold as well. A beautiful device on the outside a fingerprint scanner at the usual position for easy access.

The company didn’t go with the current trend, in terms of placing the dual rear shooters. They are horizontal at the top left with the LED flash sitting right beside them. Instead of the iPhone X-like vertical way, which flooded the 2018 MWC. Moving to the sides, where the volume keys are present as it measures just 7.8 mm slim. It weighs 164g overall and available in Red, Gold, Black and Blue colors.

Display

Bezel-less but not with the trending top-notch design. We have to wait for the official launch of the P20 to see Huawei flow with the top-notch. Nevertheless, it dishes out an 18:9 aspect ratio, with impressive displays. The honor logo is at the bottom bezel disrupting a full bezel-less display.

The top bezel however houses the selfie camera, speaker grille and ambient light sensor. Focusing on the screen now, the 5.99-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen displays like a midrange smartphone. Boasting of 1440 x 720 pixels in resolution and 269 pixel per inch density. Enjoy immersive visuals as the screen stretches up to 76.50 screen to body ratio.

Hardware and Software

Running underneath here is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chip with a 64-bit CPU architecture. The quad-core processor reaches a clock speed of 1.8GHz with a 14nm process technology. Managing graphics underneath is the Qualcomm Adreno 506 graphics processor. The Honor 7C runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

There are two versions in terms of RAM and storage space. There’s a standard version with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage space. While the cheaper variant packs 3GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage space. The RAM sparrow on both device reaches a clock speed of 933 MHz for fast multitasking. While the storage space is upgradeable up to 128GB.

Camera

At the back, there’s a dual 13MP (f/2.0 aperture) + 2MP (f/2.2 aperture) camera for everything photography. The camera comes with a LED flash and other features to capture pictures with 4160 x 3120 pixels in dimension. At the top bezel, the 8MP selfie camera has f/2.2 aperture as well with face recognition technology.

Battery

Powering the Huawei Honor 7C is a 3000mAh non-removable Li-Po battery with no fast charging technology. Even without the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take more than 2-3 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
