On September 12, Huawei launched a new flagship called Maimang 7 at a product launch conference in Guangzhou. If you recall, the Huawei released Maimang 6 on September 22, 2017. As we expect, the Maimang 7 is an upgrade of the predecessor, so in this review, we are going to look at the new things Huawei is bringing up in Maimang 7.
Design and Display of Maimang 7
Huawei makes sure that Maimang 7 uses a notch screen design while at the back it adopts a 3D curved glass. The design is quite close to that of Huawei Mate 10 Porsche as seen on the officially released picture of the device.
Maimang 7 comes in a screen size of 6.3 inches, a resolution of 2340 x 1080 with the aspect ratio of 19.5:9. This right here is a little bit higher than the 18.9 aspect ratio we know of from smartphones of this rank. Looking at the body makeup of the phone, it weighs 172 grams, having a dimension of 158.3 x 75.3 x 7.6 mm.
You will find Maimang 7 in colors of black, blue and gold – all beautiful colors. The screen type is IPS capacitive touchscreen with multi-touch capabilities.
There is much power given to the cameras of Maimang 7. It seems that more and more mobile phone manufacturers are paying attention to how they can satisfy their fans through offering the best camera features so that people can snap out-of-this-world pictures.
For Maimang 7, let’s start with the selfie camera situated to the front of the device. It has 24 + 24 MP dual cameras, a rear 20 MP + 2 MP camera setup. The cameras on Maimang 7 are equipped with auto focus. That helps to fine-tune the image and eliminate the unwanted areas.
Huawei maimang 7 runs on Android v8.1 Oreo out of the box, which means it can be upgraded to Android Pie, which is the latest version of OS. The chipset found herein is Hisilicon Kirin 710. The CPU is Octa-core, Quad-core 2.2 GHz, Cortex – A53, Quad-core 1.7 GHz Corte – A53. The GPU setting here is Mali-G51 MP4.
It appears that the Maimang has a 4GB and 6GB RAM variants as reviews are divided on this issue. However, these cannot be expanded, but the 64GB internal storage is able to be expanded by the use of microSD card.
Network and Connectivity
This new smartphone is capable of 2G, 3G, and 4G network technology. It has an inbuilt GPS receiver, FM radio receiver, Bluetooth, but there is no provision for NFC. There is USB Type-C audio and a 3.5 mm headphone jack. It comes with dual Nano SIM capacity.
This smartphone has Li-Po 3750 mAh non-removable battery which is able to give it good back up. There is fast charging capacities here, but we are unable to give more information on how far this battery can carry when it comes to everyday usage and demand.
These special features include smartphone sensors like the accelerometer which helps measure tilt and motion. Another one is the fingerprint sensor which offers the most secure way to protect the smartphone, the proximity sensor which detects when a person is holding the phone near their face to make calls. This guards the device against pressing any keys mistakenly during a call. It also saves battery power.
