A couple of smartphones were launched in the Infinix Hot series last year, with the highlight being the Hot S, the lifestyle smartphone. Other phones launched include the Hot 4, Hot 4 Pro and the Hot 4 Lite. Common sense tells us that Infinix is going to launch the Infinix Hot 5 Pro this year, but there’s also a possibility of an Infinix Hot “T” to succeed the Hot S.
The Infinix Hot 4 series reigned (and is still reigning) in the market, thanks to the company’s foresight on what its target market needs in a phone. We expect the Infinix Hot 5 series to be really hot, because Infinix Mobility would surely be firing on all cylinders when they out their first smartphone of the year in response to the series of mobile devices Tecno has launched since the beginning of this year.
Hot 5 Pro Expected Specifications, Review and Highlights
Display & Design
The design of the Infinix Hot 4 series is superb, but the Infinix Hot 5 Pro should sport a better design to accommodate the large battery capacity and other internals while still maintaining a sleek look, like Tecno did with the L9 and L9 Plus.
The display size is expected to remain 5.5 inches, but there’s the possibility of the Hot 5 Pro increasing to about 5.7 inches. The Hot 4 series had HD (1280 * 720) pixel resolutions, so the Hot 5 series or at least the Hot 5 Pro should come with a Full HD (1920 * 1080) display resolution.
Storage & Processor
The processor in the Hot 5 & Hot 5 Pro should be an Helio processor, or at least a MediaTek MT675-series processor. The Hot 5 Pro’s RAM capacity is expected to be bumped up to 3GB, but I won’t be surprised if the Hot 5 carries the same 2GB of RAM.
In terms of internal storage, however, both Hot 5 smartphones should have at least 32GB ROM capacity with an option to expand it using microSD card.
Rumours have it that things wouldn’t be changed much in the camera section, so we are expecting the same 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP selfie shooter also with a LED flash.
An added functionality would be the ability to record vidoes in Full HD resolution.
Battery & Connectivity
The Hot 5 Pro would surely support 4G LTE networks and have USB OTG functionality. The battery capacity is expected to be something higher than the 4000mAh in the Hot 4 series, between 4200mAh and 4500mAh so that the phone wouldn’t be too bulky.
Software & Hardware
Tecno Mobile has, of late, been launching different smartphones with Android 7.1 Nougat OS out of the box, like the Camon CX and L9 Plus. Infinix Mobility wouldn’t want to take the backseat, so the Infinix Hot 5 Pro would run Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box.
In terms of hardware, both the Infinix Hot 5 would sport fingerprint sensors as they have become important features on smartphones today.
