iOS 14 innovations are one step closer to Android

Widgets coming to iOS

Apple introduced the new Widgets called Quick Pick for iOS 14. You will be able to keep everything from podcasts, weather, music to notes on your home screen. You will also customize how much space it will take on your home screen. Apple has been the target of criticism arrows since it has not been personalized like Android for years. In addition, they will be able to create Widgets on the main screen with the add-ons they make in 3rd party applications. Widgets come not only to iPhones but also to Apple Watches, along with Apple WatchOS 7.

Windows-like metro interface

One of the biggest innovations that came to Apple devices after widgets were undoubtedly the brand new file system and interface. Your iOS 14 installed device will automatically group apps and have a new look on the home screen. Applications will be in the form of a library and, for example, all games will be gathered in one place. You will also be able to create as many interfaces as you want, compared to older iOS. Also, interface transition animations have changed.

On-screen display mode

Apple also brings a feature that is already on Android to iPhone devices. Now when you run an application, you will be able to watch videos and take notes in the same screen. In addition, Siri will be able to work inside the screen without entering a different interface. It was also noted in the event that Siri was redesigned. A few more features in Google Assistant have been added to Siri.

This is what’s new with iOS 14. The WWDC 2020 event took place to the contrary of what was expected and was disappointing for the users. I think we won’t be able to see a flagship model from the iPhone this year. If we don’t count the iPhone SE 2020 model, of course ..
