When the iPhone X was released, Apple highlighted the smartphone as the most powerful ever produced by the company. The benchmark tests still put the device’s chipset, the Apple A11 Bionic, as the most powerful ever used by some smartphone. But are these numbers translated into a better performance than OnePlus 5T? This is what a new comparative speed of the Buff Phone channel tries to discover.
As we can see in the video above, the iPhone X shows to be a fairly fast smartphone, especially when opening heavier applications and games. With its more than 4,000 points in the Geekbench single-core test and more than 10,000 multi-core points, iPhone X managed to finish the first part of the test in 1m18s, while OnePlus 5T finished at 1m22s.
However, the scenario changes a lot when testing the multitasking of the two smartphones. Although it achieved slightly better performance in the first part of the test, the iPhone X lost by reopening applications that should have been running in the background. This shows how 3 GB of RAM may not be enough to keep all the apps open at the same time. In contrast, the OnePlus 5T with 8 GB of RAM managed to do this without problems.

This is a result that should generate a lot of controversies, considering that even costing Double OnePlus 5T, the iPhone X cannot defeat it in a speed comparison. It is worth remembering that the new smartphone of the American company was launched in the United States for up to the US $ 1,149, while the OnePlus 5T costs a maximum of US $ 559 in its variant with 8 GB of RAM.
However, the iPhone X can be found in pre-sale on some websites, and its price starts at $ 1,300. On the other hand, the OnePlus 5T can be purchased through import, which can end up weighing negatively on the users’ choice. Anyway, it is undeniable that this smartphone is extremely powerful and does not look ugly compared to Apple’s top of the line.
