According to reports, OPPO is currently planning to introduce a new A-series smartphone with a 48MP camera in China. There are also rumors saying the phone will hit the Chinese markets with OPPO A9 moniker. There have been leaks showing the key specs of the OPPO A9 as well as its three color variants.
According to the leaks, the Oppo A9 features a rear design which looks a lot like the OPPO Reno and Reno 10x Zoom smartphones which were recently announced. On the rear, the phone sports a vertical dual camera setup and a fingerprint sensor. The phone comes with a waterdrop-style notched display on the front. The phone is expected to hit the Chinese market in three color variants including Jade White, Mica Green and Fluorite Purple.
The dual camera setup on the rear of the phone includes a 48MP primary sensor. The phone packs a 4,020mAh battery. We do not know yet whether the phone will come with rapid charging technology.
There also isn't any information available about the processor that will power the OPPO A9. Speculations say that the phone will come in a single version which packs 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. The phone will also come with ColorOS 6.0 based Android 9 Pie OS out of the box.
The Oppo A9 could be a rebranded version of OPPO F11 for the Chinese market. If it is true, the OPPO A9 could come with a 6.53-inch IPS LCD with a 1080p resolution and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The phone will be powered by a MediaTek Helio P70 chipset. The second camera in its dual camera setup could be of 5-megapixel. Its selfie camera may also be 16MP. Te OPPO F11 comes with support for 20W VOOC 3.0 flash charging. It remains to be seen whether the upcoming A9 phone will also come with support for it.
The OPPO A9 may be launched in China on April 30. In terms of pricing, the price of the phone may start at around 1,699 Yuan (~$252).
