A budget smartphone that sports an Aluminum Alloy overall unibody, the body is beautiful to be honest. The rear camera, LED flash and fingerprint scanner are all in a vertical train at the top middle. The fingerprint scanner, according to LG unlocks your device in 0.1 seconds.
At the bottom corner, the LG logo is present while the loudspeaker sits to the left. The X4 inscription is at the middle for users to know the brand of the device. Furthermore, it measures 8.6 mm in thickness just like most budget smartphones. Overall, it weighs 164g and available in only Black and Gold colors.
It’s not bezel-less even though it tried so hard to be, it managed to get to 69.60% screen to body ratio. Dishes out a 16:9 aspect ratio, which might not be pleasing to some in 2018. There’s no navigation button at the bottom bezel, so they could have expanded the screen further if they wanted to.
The 5.3-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen is just like most budget smartphone’s screen. Boasting of 1280 x 720 pixels in resolution and 277 pixel per inch density, you should see everything clearly. Additionally, a Corning Gorilla Glass protects the screen from scratches and falls.
Hardware and Software
Running the race here is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 chip alongside a 64-bit CPU architecture. The processor is a quad-core which clocks at 1.4 GHz with a 28nm process technology. Managing graphics is Qualcomm Adreno 308 graphics processor.
Internally, it has a standard 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. That’s the same RAM on the LG X4 Plus, but the storage space has been reduced a bit. The RAM has a memory speed of 667 MHz for fast multitasking, while the storage space is upgradeable up to 2TB. The device runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system with modified user interface.
The 8MP rear camera is pretty disappointing to be honest, capturing just 3K resolution images. But nonetheless, it comes with some quality features and a LED flash as well. You can record videos of 1080 pixels at 30 frames per second and take cute selfies as well. The 5MP selfie camera has a 100° wide angle lens for group selfies.
Powering the LG X4 is a 3000mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, it shouldn’t take more than 2 hours to fully charge up the battery from 0% to 100%.
