Lenovo owned Motorola Mobility recently released two Moto Z smartphones – the Moto Z and Moto Z Force. These are basically two versions of the same flagship smartphone but the Moto Z is thinner and the Z Force has a bigger battery and a ShatterShield screen that Lenovo guarantees won’t break when you drop it.
It is just apt that we review both devices and see if it they live up to our expectations.
Display, Design, Processor & Operating System
The device is 5.2mm thin, and it’s made from what Lenovo calls “aircraft-grade aluminum and stainless steel”. The device has a wide 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED touchscreen display.
Also, the smartphone runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor.
Memory, Camera & Other Features
The Motorola Moto Z also sports 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of on-board memory while there is another version which offers buyers 64 GB of on-board storage. Both of the storage options are expandable via a microSD card.
The device also packs a rear camera which is a 13 MP unit with laser auto-focus, OIS and dual-tone LED flash, while the front facing selfie shooter is a 5 MP affair with a wide-angle and surpirsingly an LED flash as well.
The sleeky handset has a fingerprint scanner as well as a water-repellant coating. It is kept running by a 2,600 mAh battery which can charge very quickly – up to 8 hours of use delivered with just 15 minutes of charging. The connector is USB Type-C.
