Motorola Moto Z3 Play

Motorola Moto Z3 Play has been unveiled by the company, making it the first smartphone from the Z3 series to make its debut. This is the updated version of the Z2 Play smartphone that was released last year by the company.

This new version sports the trending full view display, dishing the physical home button and pushing the fingerprint scanner to a not-so flattering position. The cameras have been upgraded as well, with 32GB and 64GB storage spaces. Lets find out more.

The Z series from Motorola are known for their aluminium alloy overall unibody, the Z3 Play comes with the 6000 series aluminium frame. The Corning Gorilla Glass 3 is present on top, making the device look sleek and classy.

The circle foundation at the top houses the dual shooters and dual-LED flash. While the fingerprint scanner can be found by the side as the device measures just 6.8mm in thickness and weighs 156g overall. It has splash and dust resistant as well.

The bezels have been reduced further compared to the Z2 Play. This offers a much taller screen and of course a taller display as well. However, the physical was eliminated to achieve the full view display, I have no Idea why the front LED is missing too.

Nonetheless, the 6.01-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen dishes out an 18:9 aspect ratio for amazing visuals. Plus it has a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and 402 pixel per inch density. It’s protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and stretches up to 77.9% screen-to-body ratio.

Hardware and Software

Under the hood, the Snapdragon 636 from Qualcomm is in charge. It comes with an Octa-Core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The 8-Cores of processor clocks at a smooth speed of 1.8GHz with 14nm process technology. In the graphics department, the Adreno 509 takes control.

The 4GB RAM space should be more than enough for all your heavy multitasking. In terms of storage, there are two versions, a standard version comes with 64GB. While the cheaper variant has 32GB, nonetheless, both are upgradeable up to 400GB. The Motorola Moto Z3 Play runs on Android 8.1 Oreo.

Camera

It sports dual rear shooters with amazing features. The first 12MP camera to the left has f/1.7 aperture, 1.4µm pixel size, DP PDAF. While the other 5MP telephoto shooter helps in portrait modes. Both cameras boasts of dual pixel phase detection autofocus, dual-LED dual-tone flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama and Auto-HDR. Record videos of2160p@30fps and 1080p@30/60fps. The 8MP front camera has f/2.0 aperture, 1.12µm pixel size.

Battery

Powering the Motorola Moto Z3 Play is a 3000mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery with fast charging technology. With the fast charging feature, charging the battery from 0% to 100% shouldn’t take up to 1.7 hours.
