The Motorola P30 Play and the Motorola P30 Note are two latest smartphones that were launched in August 2018. Both phones are shipped in stock Android and they also share some features in common. The Motorola P30 Note is the same as the Motorola P30 Power. The Note was introduced as the Chinese version with the same specifications as the former. In this post, we will be comparing the Motorola P30 Play with the Motorola P30 Note.

Motorola P30 Play VS Motorola P30 Note: Design

Both phones are built with Aluminium Alloy and they all feature a notch on the front. The Motorola P30 Play has body dimensions of 72.2 mm x 149.9 mm x 7.97 mm and it weighs 162 gram, while the Motorola P30 Note has body dimensions of 76 mm x 156 mm x 8.4 mm and weighs 198 grams. The Moto P30 Note is thicker and heavier than the later and they are both available in Black colors.

The notch in the front is where both the selfie snapper and other sensors are located. This gives way to a bigger screen. The Motorola P30 Play has a screen size of 5.86 inches HD+ with a screen resolution of 1520 x 720 Pixels and 287 pixels per inch density. The Motorola P30 Note has a bigger screen size or 6.2 inches FHD+ with a resolution of 1080 x 2246 Pixels and 402 pixels per inch density. Both are equipped with an IPS capacitive touchscreen technology and a display protection of a corning gorilla glass. On the overall display, the Motorola P30 Note has a higher screen to body ratio of 82%, while the Motorola P30 Play has 79.44% Screen to body ratio.

In terms of camera, both phones have a triple camera set up. The Motorola P30 Play has a rear dual camera of 13 Megapixels + 2 Megapixel. For selfies, the phone has 8 Megapixels with f/2.2 Aperture and CMOS BSI Sensor. The main camera has single LED flash and it will shoot 4K videos. On the Motorola P30 Note, you will get a rear camera of 16 Megapixels + 5 Megapixels with dual LED flash and it also shoots 4K videos quality. There is a front facing camera of 12 Megapixels with f/2.0 Aperture, Pixel size – 1.25 μm, and Wide-angle lens 84 degrees. Both phones will surely take stunning photos, however, the Motorola P30 Note wins.

The Motorola P30 Play has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset with an octa-core processor that clocked at a speed of 2.0GHz coupled with Qualcomm Adreno 506 GPU and 4GB of RAM. Motorola P30 Note has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 Chipset with an octa-core processor that clocked at a speed of 1.8GHz with Qualcomm Adreno 509 GPU. Both phones are powered by Android 8.1 Oreo operating system with 64GB of inbuilt storage. On the overall, the Motorola P30 Note will slightly outperform the later.

Motorola P30 Play VS Motorola P30 Note: Battery & Price

The Motorola P30 Play has a nonremovable battery capacity of 3000mAh while the Motorola P30 Note packs a massive battery capacity of 5000mAh. Both support fast charging technology and Type-C USB v2.0 with OTG.

On the price, the Moto P30 Play is the cheaper version and it will cost around $292, while the Moto P30 Note will sell at a price of $335.
