We all know that the most popular video streaming service-Netflix monthly plans are a bit high beginning from Rs 500 per month. There were also rumours regarding lowering the pricing of the Netflix monthly plans. And now the rumours have now become true, Netflix has finally launched a cheap Rs 199 mobile-only monthly plan for Induan users only. However, executives of Netflix has said that the company is also testing this plan in some other parts of the countries.

The company made this announcement during its Netflix House event held in New Delhi, India. The Rs 199 plan will only allow one device to access video streaming in standard definition(480-pixel) at a time. You will be able to avail this plan by today onwards. Netflix wants to give a tough competition to other streaming services service like  Amazon Prime, Hotstar, Zee5, ALT Balaji, TheViralFever etc.

Netflix is currently providing three plans for Indian users. The first one is the basic plan which costs Rs 499/month, the second one is the standard plan costing Rs 649/month and the last one is the premium plan for which you need to pay Rs 799 per month. Basic plan users will get 1 screen, standard one will allow 2 screens and the premium one supports four screens

Ajay Arora who is the Netflix's director of product innovation said, "Our members in India watch more on their mobiles than members anywhere else in the world- and they love to download our shows and films."

Netflix has invested in making content for Indian users like Sacred Games, Chopsticks, and Mighty Little Bheem and many more to come in future. The reason behind the launch of this low-cost plan can be the expensive plans that the company offered starting from Rs 500 per month whereas it's competitors like Amazon Prime costs Rs 999 for a whole year.  Another reason which can also be considered is a fall in income in Quarter 2, 20169.
