While many smartphone lovers are still drooling over the awesomeness of the recently released Nokia 8 smartphone (which made our list of top 10 smartphones in September 2017), arising details of the device’s successor will only make us drool the more.

Apparently, ever since the company’s decision to go into the Android world, they have surprisingly wowed everyone as the HMD controlled company have parented several smartphones ranging from low-end devices, to mid-range killers, budget smartphones and premium high-end smartphones.

Not too long ago, a particular image of the proposed design and body build of the Nokia 9 surfaced online. The image revealed fantastic body design that is “badder” than the Nokia 8.

Nokia 9 rumours

The curved display on the front as well as the curved back cover are characteristics you can’t help but notice, and it’s beautiful. The Nokia 9 will actually be the first curved smartphone from Nokia. Although the Nokia 8 was slightly curved, but the Nokia 9 comes with more visibly curved 3D glass edges and also features an end-to-end display (or full view display) with no bezels. From the above image, the size of the display can be said to be between the 5.5 inch and 6.0 inch region.

To create more space for the display on the front and reduce the size of the bezels, the home button doubling as the fingerprint sensor has been moved to the back right under the dual camera. The camera specifications aren’t known for now but it is also expected to be dual Carll Zeiss lens on the rear but the megapixels still remain unknown.

Additionally, the Nokia 9 will use the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset as the Nokia 8 but will come with a higher 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. A cheaper 6GB RAM version will also be manufactured and both versions will come in Copper Gold, Blue and Black colour options.

The Nokia 9 will come out of the box with the Android v8.0 Oreo operating system and considering that the Nokia 8 currently costs between NGN 220,000 and 296,000 on Jumia Nigeria, the Nokia 9 should come in at nothing less than NGN 340,000.

In the meantime, before the device is finally released later next year (Nokia definitely won’t want to release any more device this year), users should enjoy the goodness of the Nokia 8 to the fullest.
