Recently, OnePlus 6 got Android 9.0 Pie – the latest version of the green robot released by Google – through the OyxgenOS 9.0 update. For a few hours, OnePlus has released OxygenOS 5.0.6 for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T: the update brings with it the Android security patches for the month of September, as also confirmed by the official changelog published by the OnePlus team in a post on the forum.

The latest update also includes the resolution of some bugs and classic general improvements. Like other over-the-air (OTA) updates released by the Chinese company, this new version of the software has also come as an “incremental roll-out”: that is, it will initially reach a small number of OnePlus 3 and OnePlus owners. 3T, but at the same time with an extension already planned for the next few days.

The new update comes months after the Chinese company released OxygenOS 5.0.4 for the OnePlus 3 Series models with the July Android security patch and an overall improvement in the overall experience. Recently, the company has also introduced OxygenOS 5.0.5 with some bug fixes and general improvements.

The security patch initially arrived for the Pixel and Nexus models with fixes for as many as 59 vulnerabilities (from high to critical) across two different patch levels.

In addition to the September Android security patch, the latest OxygenOS update for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T offers general fixes and performance improvements. “For those who have had the opportunity to test the previous versions for OnePlus 3 and 3T, we appreciated your active feedback and with your help, we were able to optimize and improve several key areas”, wrote the company in the post on the forum.

As with previous OxygenOS updates, the latest OTA package will also arrive in a phased mode. It will therefore take some time before the update reaches all the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T devices. Each user can manually check for updates on their device by going to Settings> System Updates and then tapping the Check for Updates button located at the bottom right of the screen.
