At the Google I/O 2019 developer conference which was held recently, Google officially announced Android Q Beta 3. It also announced that after the OnePlus 7 Pro is launched, it will feature support for the latest beta build. Now, the latest Android Q beta has been rolled out for OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro devices. Users who are interested in installing this update on their devices can follow the guide which was published.
The update comes with many upgrades as well as support for new APIs. However, it has been recommended that the update should not be used for everyday use as it is still filled with many bugs since it is still in its beta phase. The beta update is meant for developers and early adopters. There are many features included in the update although some features like Ambient display, navigation gesture, recovery mode aren’t available yet. Also, users will not be able to use SMS and VoLTE at the same time. Many other system stability and app-related issues can be found in the update which is why it isn’t recommended for daily use.
We have released Android Q Developer preview for OnePlus 6 and 6T right after Google I/O, and now we are super excited to offer OnePlus 7 Series users an early glimpse at the future of Android.
As the name suggests, this build of Android Q is best suited for developers and early adopters. As it is still in an early stage of development, we do not recommend flashing this ROM if you have little or no experience in software development or flashing custom ROMs. Proceed at your own risk!
If you wish to install this update on your device, it is recommended that you back up your data. This is because the upgrade to the Android Q Beta update will delete all important data and settings saved on the device.
The company also advises users to make sure that their device has at least 30% battery power and 3GB of minimum space to be able to install the update successfully. Also if you have no idea how to flash a ROM, do follow the guide (from the source below).
