When Oppo released the Oppo F3, it raised a lot of controversies. Although the device in itself gained a lot of attention and approval from fans of the smartphone brand. Lovers of good pictures and selfie freaks particularly loved it for its top quality camera sensors. More so, it is quite strange and not cliché to see a smartphone with a single rear camera and dual front camera. Definitely, that’s the reason behind the high quality of pictures the smartphones produce.
Oppo also released the Oppo F3 PLUS, which was released before the Oppo F3 itself. The device was an improvement of the Oppo F3 and also had great dual selfie camera.
However, despite the level of uniqueness of the Oppo F3 and Oppo F3 Plus, the devices have a bit of plagiarism displayed in its design. The Oppo F3 and F3 Plus, design-wise, are living replica of the iPhone 6. See for yourself.
This can be overlooked, right? Of course it can. But when after this, the company further goes to copy Apple’s concept of releasing the Red iPhone, then it starts to become worrisome. Why don’t I just buy the Red iPhone itself instead of a look-alike?
Oppo have announced that they would be releasing a Red version of the Oppo F3 and Oppo F3 Plus. An image used in the announcement is all that is available at the moment. No information as to whether the Red Edition of the Oppo F3 and Oppo F3 Plus will come with better specs or maybe the colour will be the only differentiating factor.
One can’t help but wonder why the smartphone company would want to copy anyone else. I mean, they already proved to be a company that stands out with different devices they have released in the past; like the Oppo A77, the Oppo R11 and to mention a few.
And to think that the company (Oppo) was the highest selling smartphone company in China last year (2016) , this is totally unexpected of them. God help them they retain their position at the top this year.
For throwback purpose, the Oppo F3 has a non-removable 3200mAH battery, 5.5-inch 1080p display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection, a 13MP rear camera, 4GB of ram, 64GB of internal storage and a MediaTek Octa-core processor (1.5GHz).
The F3 Plus on the other hand comes with a non-removable 4000mAH battery, 6.0-inch 1080p display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection, a 16MP rear camera, 4GB of ram, 64GB of internal storage and a Snapdragon 653 processor.
What do you think of Oppo’s move to release the Oppo F3 RED Edition?
