Radiation and Smartphones: better not to buy these phone models

Frequently using the smartphone, and storing it near sensitive areas of our body, could expose you to a greater risk of problems arising from radiation.

In a historical moment in which the amount of time spent on the phone during the day, in a call or browsing, is extremely high, it becomes ever more necessary to adopt a more “detoxifying” lifestyle.

It is therefore also advisable to make more prudent choices in the purchase of the phone since the degree of radiation penetrance can vary significantly depending on the type of smartphone chosen. The parameter that evaluates the amount of radiation coming from a device and absorbed by the body is called SAR (Specific Rate Absorption) and is measured in W / kg.

European legislation

To date, the European Community has defined a SAR of 2 W / kg as the maximum threshold. For devices that exceed this value, free trade in the EC would not be granted. Currently, all devices on the list do not exceed this limit, but some approach it.

For this reason, the German Federal Office for Radiation Protection has compiled a ranking by entering a large number of smartphones on the market and providing them with an indication of this parameter.

Here is the complete list of devices, classified as low SARmedium SAR and high SAR.
