Popular Chinese leakster, Digital Chat Station has revealed that Redmi will announce its first MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ handset in July. According to the leakster, the smartphone will feature a 120Hz OLED touchscreen display and a pop-up selfie camera as well. Only a few days ago, he stated that the phone will come with an LCD display.
So far, only a handful of Redmi smartphones that have 5G have featured a MediaTek chipset. These phones include the Redmi 10X and Redmi 10X Pro with the Dimensity 829 chipset. How, that number can increase by one when Redmi launches this new smartphone, which could be named the Redmi K40.
Previous rumors indicated that the phone will come with a 120Hz LCD display. However, the same source has stated that the phone will feature an OLED screen and a pop-up selfie camera as well. This suggests that the phone will provide a full-screen experience similar to the Redmi K30 Pro/POCO F2 Pro and Redmi K20/K20 Pro all of which Redmi launched last year.
He also shared that the phone will feature an in-display fingerprint scanner. This isn’t surprising as most smartphones with OLED panels come with this feature. It was also stated that the phone will also pack a 4500 mAh battery.
Rumors have suggested that the mystery phone could be the one spotted on 3C certification with model number M2006J10C. If this is true, then the phone will also come with the Xiaomi MDY-11-EX 33W fast charger just like the Redmi K30 Pro.
