Nokia 8 Overview 05
Nokia 8 Overview 05

Does anyone remember when Nokia’s CEO Stephen Elops, broke down in tears and said “We didn’t do anything wrong, but somehow, we lost” speech when Microsoft took over Nokia? Well, I do. And truth me told, after that speech, I thought that was the end of Nokia. Little did I know that they were gonna be starting something and blowing our minds later on in the future.

Ever since the takeover, the comeback has been massive. It’s just barely more than a years and we have seen Nokia resurrect on the legendary Nokia 3310 and reformed it into something beautiful, and modern. I mean, who would have thought the then King of feature phones would come back from the dead to retain its title.

The Nokia 8 launched last month (August 2017) with great specs like Dual 13 MP Carl Zeiss lens on the rear, a Snapdragon 835 processor, 13 MP front camera, 4 GB of RAM, front facing fingerprint scanner and 3,090 mAh battery. The specs of the Nokia 8 are top-notch but going by GSMArena, there’s a Nokia 9 underway already.

The Nokia 9 is rumored to be coming with a more advanced IP68 waterproof and dustproof feature compared to Nokia 8′ IP54. Also, it will have a bigger 5.5 inch display but with the same 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution as the Nokia 8. Like the Nokia 8, the screen will be an always-on display and will be protected by the latest version of Corning Gorilla Glass. Lastly on the display, the Nokia 9 screen will be an AMOLED display, not an IPS LCD used on the Nokia 8.

On the software aspect, the Nokia 9 will sport a Snapdragon 835 chipset and an Octa core processor with a speed of 2.5 GHz. Interestingly, the device will come out of the  box with the latest Android v8.0 Nougat OS and will have 4 GB of RAM. But my guess is there will most likely also be a 6 GB RAM version.

The source says the Nokia 9 will also rock Dual 13 MP Carl Zeiss lens on the rear, 13 MP on the front and a front facing fingerprint sensor below the display. There is no info as to the battery capacity yet.

The Nokia 8 is Nokia’s latest flagship and you can get a unit on Jumia for NGN 195,000 only. You can also get it and ither Nokia devices at other online mall following the links below.
