Since its announcement earlier in the year, the Samsung Galaxy On7 has been in the news many times than one. It was earlier in the news because it was spotted on China device certification site TENAA, and it has recently come to the forefront of tech discussions because it has been approved by US regulatory agency FCC.
I know you’re a bit confused because the Samsung Galaxy On7 was launched last year. Yes, it was, but the Samsung Galaxy On7 I’m talking about here is the 2016 model, which would be an upgrade to that which was launched last year. The TENAA listing revealed some specifications of the On7, and the recent FCC approval has added to the list. Here are the full confirmed specs of the Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) as of now.
Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) Specifications
Like its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) will come with a 5.5-inch Full HD capacitive touchscreen display with a pixel resolution of 1920 * 1080 and pixel density of 401 ppi. The screen will come with bezels which leave a screen-to-bezel ratio of around 73.5%. Though the device will be considerably thin at 8mm, it will be bulky and heavy to carry around, weighing 166.7 grams.
The Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) which was spotted on TENAA with a model number SM-G6100 will come with a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button like most other Samsung smartphones with the fingerprint sensor. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 625 processor with a speed of 2.0GHz and eight Cortex-A53 processing cores.
The device is expected to come with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal memory, which can be expanded to 128GB with an external memory card. The device as seen in the images on the TENAA listing will come in golden color; it is unknown whether there will be other color variants.
The recent FCC approval confirms that the Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) will be coming with a 3,300mAh battery and the usual 5V/1.55A power adapter, meaning it won’t support any fast charging mechanisms which require a minimum of 5V/2A power adapters to work. The FCC listing also reveals that the Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) will support 4G FDD LTE networks, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n networks, Wi-Fi Hotspot and Hotspot Tethering, Wi-Fi Direct with a speed of 2.4GHz, and Bluetooth 4.1 LE.

Furthermore, the FCC listing gives two variants of the model number (SM-G610F/DD & SM-G610F/DS), confirming that the Samsung Galaxy On7 (2016) will have a dual-SIM variant, probably to be launched in China.
The Galaxy On7 will come with a 13MP rear camera with autofocus and a LED flash, and a 8MP front camera. It will also feature a micro-USB 2.0 port and GPS support. Lastly, the device will boot Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow from the box, meaning it is likely to be launched before the end of September, when Android 7.0 Nougat would be officially unveiled.
