We are having more and more leaks of Sony smartphones these days. The information reaches us a few hours after the Sony Xperia XA3 leak. The new leak is CAD-based renders of the Xperia L3. It came also as a video.
Sure enough, the Xperia L3 will be the successor to the Xperia L2 which was released in January 2018. However, the latest improves formula with the dual camera and a bigger touch screen.
From what we see in leaks, the L3 will have 5.7 inches screen panel and will likely have 720 x 1440 resolution and an aspect ratio of 18:9. The Xperia L3 dimensions are 153.8 x 71.9 x 9 mm. The pictures tell us more.
The Sony Xperia L3 will still have its distinctive Sony Bezels and the Sony logo etched on the bottom of the handset. On the top side, you find the 3.5mm audio jack. To the back of the Sony Xperia L3, there appears something that looks like a shiny polycarbonate.
The positioning of the camera lounge is to the top left of the rear of the smartphone. This is different from that of the L2. That edition had s single lens horizontally placed at the back of the device.
What else to expect from the incoming Xperia L3? It should have a slimmer body than the former phone. There will also be some curves added this time, maybe for beauty or for other purposes. Find the speaker at the bottom of the device, as it sits quietly close to the USB-C port.
The fingerprint scanner is placed to the right side, giving that side a crowded look or appearance. That’s where the power button and also volume rocker will be.
What we know from previous leaks of Sony Xperia L3 shows that the device will arrive as an Android 8.1 Oreo smartphone and that just doesn’t seem viable anymore because we believe that if Sony will release a smartphone like this next year (2019) it has to come with Android 9 Pie.
At the present time we know it may be driven by Qualcomm Snapdragon 630, of which the CPU could be Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53. The GPU may be Mali-T720 MP2. For memory sakes, there could be 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM, which can be increased up to 256GB. All these are not set in stone yet.
For network and connectivity, the smartphone would just do fine with the conventional setup. Primarily, it needs to be viable for 2G, 3G, and 4G networks. This will enable the use of Sony Xperia L3 where there may be only 2G network. Take note that 4G LTE may not be available everywhere.
The camera setup from leaks revealed that the Xperia L3 rear shooter will be 16 MP, while the selfie camera will be 8 MP. The good thing about the selfie camera is that it will have LED flash capacity with some good video capturing features as well.
We can’t tell yet about the official announcement, price, or release date of Sony Xperia L3. There’s absolutely no word on its release in 2018 whatsoever. But there are a few indications it may be released in the early parts of 2019.
