Just some few days after witnessing the release of the Tecno W4 that is yet to be fully available in the market, Tecno L8 surfaced. There is no doubt Tecno has been working on this device before the launch of the W4. The Tecno L8 is a budget friendly mid-range HiOS smartphone from Tecno Mobile with same price range as the recently launched Infinix HOT 3.

If you are sharp-eyed, you will know that all Tecno’s “L” series smartphones come with Mammoth battery capacity. Tecno, this time had increased the battery power on the L8 to make it stand in line with other smartphones boasting of robust batteries. The Tecno L8 batter compartment sports a really monstrous battery power of 5050mAh with Quick Charge technology, an improvement of the Tecno L5 battery. The company boasts that the L8 battery can last days on heavy usage when fully charged. Thanks to Tecno Mobile!
Battery is not only the exciting feature of the Tecno L8. It also comes pre-loaded with Android 5.1 (Lollipop) out-of-box operating system laced up with Tecno’s amazing UI dubbed HiOS.
Design & Display
The Tecno L8 has a slight change in design when compared to other Tecno’s “L” series devices. You should not expect a device with that battery pack at the back to be a light one. This dual SIM Android phone comes with diagonal 5.5-inch IPS Capacitive display with a resolution measuring 720 x 1280 pixels and 267ppi display density that is not too ugly for a lower mid range phone.
Performance & Camera
A MediaTek Quad-Core processor clocking in at 1.3GHz runs the show on the Tecno L8. It sports an 8.0MP rear camera with a led flash alongside front facing snapper of just 2.0MP that may be of interest to those fond of selfies.
Storage & Memory Capacity
The smartphone has a built in storage of 16GB which can further be expanded up to 64GB using its microSD card slot. It also crams in a 1GB of RAM that is reasonably fair for a device in this price range.
Connectivity & Sensor
Connectivity options for the Tecno L8 include 3.5mm audio jack, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, FM, and 3G. Sensors on the phone include Proximity, Accelerometer and Compass sensor.

If you are a fan of the Tecno L smartphones, then falling in love with this device will not be war. With the above Tecno L8 review shown above, you would notice that the differences between the Tecno L8 and W4 are not much. However, if you would ask, I rather go for the L8 because of its HiOS and the huge battery. It will be added advantage for me living in a country where electricity is GOLD.
Nevertheless, some would prefer going for the Tecno W4 because it is the first Tecno handset that features Android Marshmallow out-of-box, and being a 4G LTE phone. WHAT will happen to your Tecno W4 with Android Marshmallow when an OTA update is rolled out for all Tecno L8 users?
