Tecno N2s Specifications & Price in Nigeria and Kenya

Another Tecno phone is out, but unlike the recent releases from the Chinese company that are being promoted aggressively in the smartphone market like the Tecno Camon C9, the Tecno N2s was released silently into the stores. When you look at the specs the device has to offer, however, you would discover the reason why no noise was made about it; it’s an entry-level budget smartphone definitely meant for those with low purchasing power and people who don’t really know much about what’s going on in the smart world.

In any case, it offers some good specifications for those who can use it. Let’s take a dive into it.

Design and Display

The Tecno N2s is quite compact, sporting a 4-inch display with quarter HD resolution (qHD). The compactness of the device is replicated in its display quality and technology (WGVA), which wouldn’t look too good at 800 x 480 pixel resolution. It may not be clear enough to be viewed at angles far from the normal, but it should display icons good enough when staring at the display directory.

Performance and Memory

The insides of the N2s offer some temporary relief from the horrors the display could have caused to users, especially those used to better phones. It is powered by a 1.3GHz Quad-core processor whose other details are not known yet apart from the fact that it is made by MediaTek.

The budget smartphone comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory which can be expanded via a micro SD slot.

Camera

Nothing spectacular here. A 5MP camera sits at the back with a flash unit at its side. Same can’t be said of its 2MP front camera however, which sits there in a solitary state.

Connectivity

The phone supports 3G internet connectivity, which is almost obsolete now that major telecommunication companies are rolling out 4G services in their countries of residence. Thankfully, the Tecno N2s supports Wi-Fi, and an advanced version at that (Dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac). It also comes with Bluetooth version 4.0.

Battery

The Tecno N2s runs on a 2,020mAh battery. Though this won’t take you through a day with heavy use, I really don’t expect anyone who plans to use a smartphone heavily to buy this phone, so the capacity shouldn’t be too much of an issue. If you’re a hardcore gamer or social media freak, this phone might not be for you, unless you have a place where you can charge it.

Software

Here is where things get interesting, but sadly it’s also where things end. It must be said, though. The Tecno N6s runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, becoming the fourth Tecno smartphone to run the latest Android OS version after the Camon C9 and Tecno W duo – Tecno W4 and Tecno W3. And as an icing on the cake, the N2s will be pre-loaded with the latest iteration of HiOS, the UI layout currently in use by Tecno.

Tecno N2s Price in Nigeria and Kenya

The Tecno N2s comes with a price tag that seems appropriate for the features it offers. It is currently available in Kenya on Jumia for Ksh. 5,499, and on Safaricom for Ksh. 5,199. The Tecno N2s is going to cost between N20,000 – N22,000 when it arrives in Nigeria. It is not known whether the Tecno N2s will be made available in smartphone markets in other African countries, considering the silence that greeted its entry into the Kenyan smartphone market.
