Their popularity has grown over the years especially in 2018. They released the UMIDIGI A1 Pro, an affordable bezel-less with dual-rear camera earlier this year. And now they have released their most anticipated UMIDIGI Z2 and UMIDIGI Z2 Pro. Their latest flagship has amazed a lot of users especially the design and display of the smartphone. Although the phone imitates the Huawei P20 in some ways, it still manages to stand alone with some features.

The new flagship has been compared with a lot of high-end phones in the market such Huawei P20 and even the iPhone X. All these are good signs of how great the phone is. The UMIDIGI Z2 and Z2 Pro have the same design, their front design has a striking resemblance to the Huawei P20. They both feature a front and rear glass with 7000 series aluminum frame, behind the rear glass is an aluminum alloy. One of the highlights of both smartphones is the twilight gradient color, which is amazing to the eyes. The UMIDIGI Z2 and Z2 Pro are available in three body colors; Black, Twilight, and Phantom. But only the Twilight and Phantom body colors feature the innovative gradient color finish.

The fingerprint sensor of the UMIDIGI Z2 and Z2 Pro is rear mounted with the dual rear camera placed above the sensor. In dimensions and weight, both smartphones size up to 153.4 x 74.4 x 8.3 mm and weighs 165 grams. The top-notch on both phones features a dual front camera, which supports facial identification technology.

There’s no difference in the display of both the UMIDIGI Z2 and UMIDIGI Z2 Pro. They both feature a 6.2 inch FHD+ IPS LCD touchscreen, an 85% screen-to-body ratio, 1080 x 2246 pixels resolution, 19:9 aspect ratio and 403 pixels per inch density. Overall, the display quality of these two smartphones is quite okay for the price range.

The UMIDIGI Z2 and Z2 Pro are the company’s first smartphone to sport a dual camera set-up on both sides. The rear camera set-up on both phones features a 16MP primary Samsung sensor, coupled with an 8MP secondary Samsung sensor. According to UMIDIGI, the 8MP secondary sensor is specifically designed for dark shooting and helps the primary sensor to take a clearer picture in low-light conditions. Up front, is the 16MP and 8MP Sony sensor camera on both phones. Only the UMIDIGI Z2 Pro supports AI features.

This is where you see a big difference between the UMIDIGI Z2 and UMIDIGI Z2 Pro. Powering the UMIDIGI Z2 is MediaTek Helio P23 chipset, ARM Mali G71 MP2 graphics processing unit and Octa-core processor. While the UMIDIGI Z2 Pro is powered by a more powerful MediaTek Helio P60, ARM Mali G72 MP2 graphics processing unit and 8-core processor. The MediaTek Helio P60 on the UMIDIGI Z2 Pro features AI processing unit.

They both feature the same 6GB memory, with the UMIDIGI Z2 having a 64GB internal storage. While the UMIDIGI Z2 Pro has a bigger 128GB internal storage. Running on both smartphones is pure stock Android 8.1 Oreo, which means it’ll be free from bloatware.
