Xiaomi CEO reveals upcoming phone will be powered by Snapdragon 730

Redmi India announced two new smartphones a few days ago, the Redmi Y3 and the Redmi 7. Today, the company’s managing director has revealed that it is going to release a more powerful smartphone in the coming months. The exciting thing about the news is that the phone will come with the latest chipset in Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 700 series, the Snapdragon 730 or Snapdragon 730G.

Xiaomi India’s MD, Manu Kumar shared a tweet earlier today which contained a photo that he took with two Qualcomm India executives. He also talked about the partnership between their companies and also teased a new smartphone.

According to the info he shared, the phone will be powered by the “Snapdragon 7_ _ (announced just 2 weeks ago)”. The Snapdragon 730 and Snapdragon 730G are the two Snapdragon 700 chipsets Qualcomm released this month, and as such, it has got to be either of the two. However, we believe the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 730.

Samsung Galaxy M20 will have a 5,000 mAh super-battery?

Just over a week ago, a leak showed the specs of an upcoming Redmi phone. According to the leak, the phone features a Snapdragon 730 processor, packs a 4000mAh battery, and has three cameras on its rear including 48MP + 8MP + 13MP cameras. There is a chance this is the device that’s going to be launched in India. However, it may be launched in China first. There isn’t any information yet about the name of the phone. However, we believe that the company will launch it in India as a Mi phone, not a Redmi phone.

Specifically speaking, we think this might actually be the Mi A3 phone. There isn’t any information on the date of the launch but we won’t be surprised if Xiaomi wants to announce its next Android One phone a little early this year.

So what name do you think Xiaomi is going to give the phone? Share your thoughts in the comments below.
